From Concrete Jungles to Community Hearts: My Urban Planning Odyssey 🌆✨

Once upon a time, there was a wide-eyed girl that thought cities could be more than steel and traffic; they could be love letters to humanity. That girl was me, Felicity Sophia Williams, your girl-next-door urban planner with the mission of making every sidewalk tell a story and every park bench feel like a hug. 🏙️💕

I got my start in the dusty backrooms of municipal offices, getting coffee and filing things, and dreaming of the day the paper clips and files would be replaced with blue prints. I remember crying in the stairwell of the office after getting my 10th rejection on an internship (you’re too naive for this field, they told me). Naivety was my superpower, only because it was what made me see magic, where others saw zoning laws. 🌟

In between sleepless nights in graduate school, fighting with bureaucrats (ever gotten into an argument with a man who believes bike lanes are a “communist plot,” 😅), and a thousand failed proposals.... I finally got my break; I redesigned a falling apart alley into a pop-up garden that students from a nearby school thought was theirs, and was filled with so much life that the alley became the heart of the neighbor. The day little girl handed me a dandelion and said, "This is my favorite place," I knew,* this is why I fought so hard. 💪🌸

Now, I am obsessed with making urban nightmares into fairytales—one inclusive plaza, one green roof, one community mural at a time. My DMs are flooded with developers clutching pearls ("But where's the profit?!") and young planners starving for hope. Honey, profits exist in park space for healing. Profits exists in bus stops that don't feel like purgatory. 🚌💋

Here I am: your cheerleader in sensible sneakers, sharing the blood, sweat and glitter of this wild ride. Cities aren't made by cynics. They're made from stubborn dreamers evolving behavior in their community, that believe a streetlamp can be a lighthouse... and maybe with a girl, like me, who blushes when they call me “madam” 😂😉.
